Jerusalem Police Ready for This Weeks Jerusalem Day Celebrations
Jerusalem Police have completed security preparations for Jerusalem Day, deploying thousands of officers and soldiers to ensure safety and public order.
Jerusalem, 11 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Jerusalem District of the Israel Police has completed its operational preparations for the Jerusalem Day events that will take place from Thursday night May 14 through the day of Friday May 15, 2026.
The preparations, which were formulated after regular headquarters work and field patrols led by the District Commander, Chief Avshalom Peled, are intended to ensure that all events will take place safely, while maintaining public peace and security and a strict balance between freedom of worship and celebrations and maintaining the proper fabric of life in the city.
Starting in the early morning hours of Thursday (May 14), thousands of police officers, Border Guard soldiers, and volunteers will be deployed throughout the city. The main task before us is to secure the tens of thousands of celebrants, visitors, and worshipers, and to maintain public order and traffic regulations.
The police said they will, “act with determination and zero tolerance against any attempt to violate the law or harm public safety, using advanced technological means and overt and covert forces.”
