Jerusalem, 3 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Against the backdrop of the increase in the number of casualties and evacuees as a result of Iranian missiles, Israel’s Ministry of Welfare and Social Security is recruiting dozens of social workers to the ministry’s reserve pool.
Following the war and the great demand for social workers, the Ministry of Social Affairs formulated a database of ‘reserve’ servicemen from among social workers who are not employed by the state: employees, retirees, and self-employed people from private clinics join the ministry’s direct service employees and strengthen the social welfare departments in local authorities, in hotels to which victims from Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Beit Shemesh are referred.
The move is intended to strengthen frontline social workers, provide a rapid response to urgent inquiries generated following the operation, and ensure continuity of response to families, children, senior citizens, and people with disabilities who need assistance.
