Jerusalem, 12 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel is bracing for an unseasonal heat wave on Tuesday, with temperatures expected to rise sharply across most of the country under hot, dry conditions, according to the Meteorological Service.
The Health Ministry urged the public — especially the elderly, children, pregnant women and people with chronic illnesses — to avoid prolonged sun exposure, strenuous activity and dehydration. Residents were advised to stay in air-conditioned spaces, drink plenty of water and wear light clothing and sunscreen when outdoors.
Cooler weather is expected Wednesday, with temperatures returning to seasonal norms.
