Health System Preparedness – Operation Roaring Lion

Operation Roaring Lion has seen 456 hospital evacuations, with 86 patients hospitalized. The Ministry of Health offers guidance for older adults.

As of Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8:00 a.m., the Ministry of Health reports that since the start of Operation Roaring Lion, 456 people have been evacuated to hospitals. Of them, 86 are currently hospitalized or in the emergency department.

  • 1 in serious condition (not directly related to a missile impact)
  • 19 in moderate condition
  • 92 in mild condition
  • 3 treated for anxiety
  • 1 undergoing medical evaluation

The Ministry of Health asks anyone living near older adults to help them choose the closest and safest protected space, practice getting there, and, if possible, go to the protected space ahead of time—before the siren sounds—to prevent falls and injuries on the way.
