Jerusalem, 2 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Netanyahu on Monday pledged that Israel’s international intelligence agency, the Mossad, “will continue to be at the forefront of our fight against Iranian aggression. Continuing the consistent policy we have been leading for years – we will not allow the Iranian regime to turn the wheel back.”
Netanyahu’s comments came at the inauguration ceremony for new Mossad head Roman Gofman.
Netanyahu went on to pledge that Israel will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons, nor to threaten Israel’s existence.
“This regime of terror,” he said of Iran, “which is destined to disappear from the world – and we will help it reach this goal – this regime will not again threaten us with nuclear bombs and thousands of deadly ballistic missiles.”
The Prime Minister expressed similar sentiment at the ceremony held Monday night for the outgoing Mossad head David Barnea saying, “Anyone who plots evil against Israel will know that his plots will fail. The price he will pay will be extremely heavy. The price that Iran has already paid is very heavy. The foundations of this regime of terror in Iran have cracked. It will not Return to what it was, and I tell you – it will eventually fall.”
