Jerusalem, 3 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Fire and Rescue Service reported that nine teams of firefighters are battling multiple wildfires in Samaria, several of which have been confirmed to be caused by arson.

“Since the morning hours, we have been dealing with a series of fires across the Samaria area,” said Avi Ben-Saadon, Deputy Fire Commissioner and commander of the Samaria region. The 10 confirmed arsons were all in an area of Route 60 adjacent to farms.

A separate fire at nearby Har Bracha was brought under control. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether it was arson.

Meanwhile, six teams and firefighting planes continue to battle three fires in the Jordan Valley near the Ein Sukkot spring, close to the Jordanian border. Rugged terrain is hampering firefighting efforts. Jordanian firefighters were observed across the border in case the fire spreads. The cause has not yet been determined.
