Milk Production in Israel Up 3.9%
Israel's milk production saw a 3.9% increase in 2025 to 1,695 million liters, with cow yield also rising, according to new data.
Jerusalem, 21 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — On the occasion of the Shavuot holiday, which begins Thursday night, Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics released current data on the Production and consumption of milk and honey in Israel. Many have a tradition to eat dairy instead of meat at the holiday meals, in contrast to the Sabbath and other holidays.
Total milk production in Israel in 2025 was estimated at 1,695 million liters, an increase of 3.9% compared to 2024.
The average yield per cow in 2025 was 12,647 kg of milk per year, an increase of 4.3% compared to 2024. Milk yield per cow in Israel is the highest in the world.
Honey production in 2025 was estimated at approximately 2,500 tons, a decrease of 34.2% compared to 2024. The sharp decrease is due to low precipitation in 2024-2025. In previous years (2014-2024), there were fluctuations in honey production, mainly due to changes in the amount of precipitation.
In 2025, the price of cow’s milk per producer increased by 4.3% and the price of honey per producer increased by 6.7% compared to 2024.
In 2025, the price of milk increased by 2.8% and the price of honey increased by 3.0% (December 2025 compared to December 2024).
