Israel Working to Expand Pomegranate Exports to Japan

Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture is expanding pomegranate export opportunities to Japan, a premium market, following a successful harvest season.

Jerusalem, 14 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security is offering what it called a “unique” opportunity for Israeli pomegranate growers to export their produce to markets in Japan, one of the “highest-quality and most sought-after” markets in the world. According to the Ministry’s data, the last pomegranate harvest season in Israel saw approximately 40 thousand tons, of which approximately 5,500 tons are exported annually.

The Ministry is currently working to connect the demand abroad with relevant parties in the pomegranate industry in Israel, with the aim of examining export options and expanding activity in international markets. For consumers in Japan, it is an opportunity to enjoy the quality Israeli pomegranate.
