Israels Foreign Minister Speaks with New Bulgarian Counterpart Velislava Petrova
Israel's Foreign Minister met with new Bulgarian counterpart Velislava Petrova, emphasizing strong ties and discussing efforts to improve EU-Israel relations.
Jerusalem, 12 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Minister spoke with Bulgaria’s new Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova and congratulated her on her appointment to that post just a few days ago.
“We place great importance on our ties with Bulgaria and want to strengthen them,” said Sa’ar.
Sa’ar said that he told Petrova that the “ongoing anti-Israeli efforts by certain hostile governments are an attempt to ruin EU-Israel relations” and that he “looks forward to working with the FM and invited her to visit Israel.”
