Gaza Receives Over 60 Liters of Water Per Person Daily
COGAT reports Gaza receives over 70,000 cubic meters of water daily, averaging 60 liters per person, via Israeli pipelines and desalination plants.
Jerusalem, 19 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — COGAT (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories: Judea and Samaria and towards the Gaza Strip) reported that more than 70,000 cubic meters of water are supplied to the Gaza Strip on average every day, amounting to more than 60 liters per person daily.
Approximately 250 water trucks operate daily, serving approximately 2,800 distribution points throughout Gaza. More than 78,000 tons of hygiene and sanitation equipment have entered the Strip, alongside waste removal equipment and water purification tablets.
Four water pipelines are currently operational in Gaza, three of which transport water from Israel, in addition to desalination facilities, including two major desalination plants. One, located in Khan Younis, is connected to the “Kela” power line from Israel, alongside dozens of water wells throughout the Strip.
