FM Saar Meets North Macedonias FM, Praises Support for Israel Since October 7
Israel's FM Sa'ar met North Macedonia's FM Mucunski in Jerusalem, praising his nation's steadfast support for Israel since October 7.
Jerusalem, 24 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met Monday in Jerusalem with North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Timcho Mucunski, thanking him for his country’s support of Israel in international forums, especially following October 7.
Sa’ar said Israel faces “not only terrorism and military threats, but also a systematic political campaign in the international arena based on lies,” adding that North Macedonia has shown friendship by standing against such efforts. He also called for the disarmament of Hamas and Hezbollah, demilitarization of Gaza, and international resolve against Iran’s nuclear ambitions and support for terrorism.
Mucunski said his country is “working to preserve the legacy of Holocaust remembrance and fight antisemitism” and stands alongside Israel against terrorism, expressing interest in expanding economic ties.
The ministers signed cooperation agreements and discussed expanding bilateral ties in agriculture, water management, defense, innovation, tourism, health and education.
