Israel approves historic reform for IDF/security forces' wounded, removing bureaucracy and expanding support for their rehabilitation journey.
We embrace them and their families, and are committed to standing by their side not only at the moment of injury, but throughout their rehabilitation journey. The reform we have approved will fundamentally change the treatment of the injured: we will remove bureaucratic barriers, shorten queues and recognition procedures, expand medical and psychological support, strengthen personnel, and harness advanced technologies so that every injured person receives their full rights quickly, with dignity, and with sensitivity. The Rehabilitation Division will become a national authority, each injured person will receive a single professional contact person to accompany them, and the state will proactively work to ensure they receive their rights – without sending them from office to office and without burdening them with unnecessary struggles. I thank the Minister of Defense Israel Katz, the Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich, Prof. Mor Yosef, the Organization of Disabled IDF Veterans, and all the partners in this important move. Our fighters went into battle to protect us. Now it is our turn to fight for them and for their rehabilitation. This is our moral duty. This is our national duty – and this is what we are doing.
