Israeli Defense Minister Appoints Senior Druze Officer as Military Secretary

Brig. Gen. Hisham Ibrahim, a senior Druze officer, has been appointed military secretary to Defense Minister Israel Katz, replacing Maj. Gen. Guy Markizeno.

Jerusalem, 14 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Brig. Gen. Hisham Ibrahim has been appointed as the next military secretary to Defense Minister Israel Katz, the Israeli Defense Ministry said. Ibrahim currently heads the Civil Administration and will replace Maj. Gen. Guy Markizeno, who has been appointed military secretary to the prime minister.

Ibrahim, one of the most senior Druze officers in the Israel Defense Forces, previously served as commander of the Armored Corps.
