Weapons Smuggling Attempt by Drone Foiled, One Arrested

Israeli forces thwarted a drone-led weapons smuggling attempt from Jordan near the eastern border, arresting one suspect and confiscating 12 pistols.

Jerusalem, 24 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Air Force lookouts and Dead Sea Command military forces identified yesterday, Thursday, an attempted smuggling of weapons in Israel’s eastern border area, from Jordan.

Immediately after the identification, the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and the Israel Police chased down the smugglers and arrested one, and confiscated all-terrain vehicles and drone equipment.

The forces operating at the scene located 12 pistols in the vehicles.

The arrested suspect and the pistols were transferred for further processing to the Israel Police Southern Command.
