His escape was thwarted this time by shooting at his legs. Gideonim Unit 33 fighters in Lahav 433, along with forces from the Judea and Samaria District, arrested a suspect (Dahariya, in his 30s) this morning on suspicion of vehicle theft. During the arrest, the suspect attempted to flee, shots were fired at his legs, and he was transferred for medical treatment before his interrogation. The suspect’s arrest was carried out after several attempts to arrest him in recent months, during which he escaped. According to the suspicion, over the past year, the suspect was involved in vehicle thefts from their owners, after locating vehicles for sale on Facebook and allegedly expressing interest in purchasing them. For example, in July of last year, a resident of Arad arrived at the Meitar crossing to sell his vehicle. The suspect asked to drive the vehicle in the parking lot, and then disappeared while driving. In another case, the suspect arranged to meet a seller in the parking lot near the Meitar crossing, asked to drive the vehicle with the seller, and suddenly began to accelerate until they reached the Samua junction, where he stopped and ordered the seller to get out of the vehicle, leaving him there alone.
