Jerusalem, 12 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — In what the Israel Police called a “focused operation,” detectives uncovered a cache od illegal firearms in the Bedouin village of Abu Kaf, located just outside of Be’er Sheva.
The weapons were found as part of an operation carried out under Israel’s ongoing fight against the holding of illegal firearms in Arab communities.
During the operation, police forces entered the village, closed the building where the weapons were kept, broke inside, and during the search, located a cache with numerous firearms in it.
The following were seized at the scene:
– Two M16 rifles wrapped in plastic.
– An MP5 submachine gun.
– A box of ammunition containing a large quantity of 5.56 mm bullets.
– A chain of ammunition.
– 16 full M16 magazines and additional magazines.
