Police Arrest Six Illegal Residents at Hadera Construction Site
Six Palestinian Authority residents were arrested for illegal stay in Israel during police patrols near Hadera and Elyakhin; one employer was also detained.
Jerusalem, 20 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — During a patrol in Elyakhin, just south of Hadera, police officers spotted four suspects who, according to police, fled into construction sites after noticing the patrol cars. Officers pursued them on foot and arrested all four. An inspection found that they were residents of the Palestinian Authority who were staying in Israel without valid permits.
In a separate operation, in Hadera, police located two Palestinians staying in Israel illegally inside a business. The two were arrested, and the person suspected of employing them was also taken into custody as part of the investigation.
Illegal stay (referred to in Hebrew as “Shabach”) in Israel is a serious criminal and security offense that applies to anyone living in the country without a valid residency permit.
The Entry into Israel Law imposes severe criminal and administrative sanctions not only on those staying illegally, but also on Israeli citizens who assist them.
