Jerusalem, 10 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A couple from the north (in their 40s, residents of Kiryat Yam) were arrested on suspicion of human trafficking. Jerusalem Police Detectives arrested the two on suspicion of running a network for importing women from abroad for the purpose of employing them in prostitution.

The arrests came following what the police called a “covert and complex investigation” that lasted several months.

The two are suspected of systematically locating women in Brazil, contacting them, and bringing them into Israel with the aim of employing them to provide sexual services in various locations in the country. The undercover investigation included the use of technological means and the collection of evidence against the two for the offenses of procuring a person to engage in prostitution and trafficking in human beings for the purpose of prostitution.
