Israel Seizes Over 200,000 Eggs in Overnight Smuggling Wave
Israeli authorities seized over 200,000 eggs in five overnight smuggling attempts from the Palestinian Authority, with one truck carrying nearly 200,000 eggs.
Jerusalem, 4 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli authorities thwarted five attempts overnight to smuggle eggs from the Palestinian Authority into to Israel, confiscating over 200,000 eggs, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security said.
In the largest seizure, a truck was stopped at a crossing carrying about 192,000 eggs without veterinary supervision, refrigeration, and had suspected counterfeit stamps.
All the eggs were destroyed and criminal proceedings were opened.
