Jerusalem, 19 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has intensified inspections of poultry farms amid a heat wave, discovering 4,300 eggs stored in improper conditions at a coop in Moshav Peki’in Peki’in HaHadasha in northern Israel. Veterinary inspectors found the eggs had been left uncollected for at least two days and stored outdoors in temperatures of around 30 degrees Celsius, violating ministry regulations.

According to the ministry, improper storage in high heat increases contamination risks.

The eggs were transferred for controlled heat treatment under a veterinarian’s order.
