Jerusalem, 14 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Camtek, an Israel-based semiconductor inspection and metrology firm, announced it will acquire Tel Aviv AI startup Visual Layer to strengthen its visual artificial intelligence capabilities.
Camtek said Visual Layer’s technology has already been integrated into its systems over the past year, enhancing inspection performance. The acquisition is expected to accelerate development and improve product throughput as demand rises for AI-driven semiconductor solutions. Executives also pointed to potential expansion beyond hardware into AI-powered analytics, creating new recurring revenue streams.
The deal, expected to close in the coming weeks.
