Jerusalem, 11 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli companies H2Pro and Doral Hydrogen are teaming up to build the world’s first fully off-grid solar-to-hydrogen plant in Extremadura, Spain.

The facility will start with a 5 MW electrolyzer powered by 10 MW of solar panels, later expanding to 50 MW. Using H2Pro’s Decoupled Water Electrolysis technology, it can produce hydrogen efficiently from intermittent solar power without relying on batteries or the grid. The hydrogen will be blended into Spain’s existing gas network.

The companies hope the project will show a cheaper, scalable way to produce green hydrogen and support energy independence and carbon reduction.
