Jerusalem, 27 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture said that a “serious enforcement incident” was recorded in the Caesarea Marine National Park area: Two fishermen were caught without a fishing license and violently threatened inspectors from the Marine Unit of the Nature and Parks Authority, who supervise fishing and are entrusted with the task of monitoring the fishing on behalf of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

According to the inspectors, in recent days the two were seen tying up their boat in an unregulated and illegal manner in the Caesarea Marine National Park area, using the place as an illegal anchorage and going out to fish at sea.

During the enforcement, the inspectors discovered that the fishermen were operating without a fishing license, the boat itself was operating without a sailing license (TEST), the boatman was sailing the vessel without a sailing license, and the fish they caught were prohibited from fishing and are considered protected natural values.
