Police Searching for Suspicious Palestinian Driver Who Fled After Being Stopped

Jerusalem police are searching for a Palestinian driver who fled a traffic stop, leading an officer to fire shots. IDF and police are involved in the operation.

Jerusalem, 16 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Earlier today, Tuesday, a police officer from the National Headquarters who was on a routine trip noticed a Palestinian vehicle committing a traffic violation and stopped it for inspection.

At some point, after the officer got out of the vehicle, the driver began to flee.

In response to the incident, the officer fired shots at the vehicle, without causing any injuries. The driver fled the scene.

IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and police forces are operating in the area and conducting searches to locate the vehicle and driver.
