Jerusalem, 10 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Police stopped and arrested the members of a “hit squad” it said was affiliated with a reputed Arab criminal organization as they were en route to carrying out a criminal shooting, preventing possible murders.

The squad, said the police, departed from the city of Nazareth and its members were identified traveling near Route 77, an east-west highway in northern Israel, in a jeep and an ATV. The police conducted surveillance on the vehicles before executing a roadblock and stopping the jeep, in which communication devices were found. The ATV, which spotted the roadblock, attempted to flee until it was blocked by a patrol car, and the two passengers fled and the police began a foot chase.

At the end of a foot pursuit that included the use of warning shots in the air, the police succeeded in arresting the two ATV passengers. A search of one of them revealed two pistols and gloves. All of the suspects (from Nazareth and Reineh, ages 18-24) were arrested for questioning, during which the court extended their detention.
