Jerusalem, 2 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Prime Minister Netanyahu Tuesday evening sent a message to all members of the IDF (Israel Defense Forces), both regular army and reservists, expressing his appreciation for their service saying, “I know you have paid a heavy price – both at work, in school, and at home.” The message came as the IDF is calling up tens of thousands of reservists for a new push against Hamas in Gaza.

“Throughout the war we made very difficult decisions,” he added. “Decisions that no one believed we could truly implement. But we implemented them because you gave us and me the strength to advance the State of Israel towards a sweeping victory. Now we are facing the decisive stage. I believe in you, I trust you and the entire nation embraces you. With God’s help – together we will win.”

“We are working to defeat Hamas,” Netanyahu also told the soldiers, “but along the way we have accomplished wonders together because we have broken the Iranian axis; both in Gaza, both in Lebanon with Hezbollah, both with the Assad regime that collapsed, both with Iran itself, which threatened us with existential threats and we removed them together, and now also against the Houthis. But what started in Gaza must end in Gaza.”
