Jerusalem, 3 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Tax Authority and the Southern District of the Israel Police thwarted an attempt to smuggle approximately 7 kg of drugs – hashish – into Israel across the border from Jordan, which was carried out, they said, using minors – four girls, aged 11 to 15.

The father, the police alleged, used his minor daughters’ briefcases in an attempt to smuggle the drugs through the Rabin border crossing located just north of Eilat.

The suspect and his daughters are residents of Shaqib al-Salam, or Segev Shalom, a Bedouin town in the Negev.
