Knesset Committee Tours Negev Promoting Settlement and Solving Issue of Ownership Claims
Jerusalem, 19 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — On November 16, 2025, the Authority for Regulating Bedouin Settlement in the negev held a special tour for members of the Knesset’s Negev and Galilee Committee, headed by MK Oded Forer.
During the tour, the committee members were exposed to the Authority’s extensive work within the framework of the ZIP Code program, and to the regularization activities taking place throughout the Negev.
One of the main points that came up during the tour was the urgent need to promote a comprehensive government plan to deal with the issue of ownership claims, which is a major obstacle in the process of regularizing the settlements and the Bedouin population.
The chairman of the committee, MK Oded Forer, expressed a personal commitment to advancing the issue and noted that he would work with the relevant government ministries to expedite the proceedings. He also announced that he would soon convene the Negev and Galilee Committee for a dedicated discussion on the new plan, with the participation of all relevant government and public entities.
