Breaking News

Jerusalem, 20 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The leader of the Druze community in Israel, Sheikh Moaaf Tarif, made an emotional appeal to US President Donald Trump for American aid in protecting the Druze community in Syria which is under threat of a massacre at the hands of the Syrian regime saying, “The US must protect the Druze minority in Syria from the continuation of the massacres carried out by extremist militias without the ability of the government to control the situation.”

He also charged that the US is responsible for what is happening adding, “We are facing horrific scenes of genocide, in a vicious attack on innocent Druze citizens – the United States, the leader of the free world, is enabling this and turning a blind eye.”

“It is impossible for it to ignore these terrible acts in order to impose governmental power and trample on all civil rights, while committing crimes against humanity and genocide.”

The Druze are a small Arabic group who, like Jews, are both a religion and a nation of people. However, they do not claim any homeland of their own and are loyal to the countries in which they live. The Druze communities are divided between Israel, Syria and Lebanon.

The Muslim regime in Syria has targeted the Druze because they are not Muslims.
