Israeli President Calls for Respect and Unity on 30th Anniversary of Rabin’s Assassination

Jerusalem, 3 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli President Isaac Herzog urged citizens to remember the lessons of Yitzhak Rabin’s assassination on Monday, warning against the resurgence of violence toward public officials and elected leaders.

“The horrific assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, the leader, calls on us to clearly define the boundaries of debate. To fortify the institutions and democratic rules of the game that allow the essential debate to take place,” Herzog said at a ceremony in Jerusalem marking the 30th anniversary of Rabin’s death.
