Jerusalem, 11 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli President Isaac Herzog, during a state dinner in Lusaka hosted by President Hakainde Hichilema, urged the international community to address Africa’s humanitarian crises with the same urgency as it does Israel. Herzog praised Zambia’s development under Hichilema and highlighted the reopening of Israel’s embassy in Lusaka as a hub for innovation and cooperation.

“The connection between Zion and Zambia is so natural,” Herzog said.

Herzog is the first Israeli head of state to visit Zambia.

From Zambia, the President will continue to the Democratic Republic of Congo for meetings with Congolese President Félix Tshisekedi and other senior officials.
