Jerusalem, 29 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israeli film and television star Alon Aboutboul died Tuesday at the age of 60 after collapsing at a beach near Haifa. Emergency responders were unable to revive him.

Aboutboul, born in Kiryat Ata, had a four-decade career spanning Israeli and international cinema and TV, including roles in Munich, Beaufort, The Dark Knight Rises, and Body of Lies. He won multiple awards, including the Ophir and three Jerusalem Film Festival Best Actor prizes.

Culture Minister Miki Zohar praised Aboutboul’s “passion for the profession” and called him a major figure in Israeli culture.

Aboutboul is survived by four children.
