Jerusalem, 31 August, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli government on Sunday approved a proposal by Acting Minister of Construction and Housing Haim Katz to simplify the hiring of foreign workers in the construction sector. The decision cancels professional screening stages in the private recruitment track, speeding up worker arrivals and allowing companies greater flexibility while maintaining safety training.

The move follows requests by MK Eti Hava Atia, Chairwoman of the Special Committee for Foreign Workers, and cooperation with the Committee of CEOs on Foreign Workers. It complements recent steps including increased quotas, private recruitment models, and calls for foreign companies. Officials say the measure will support residential and infrastructure projects, protect the housing market, and strengthen the economy.
