Israel Loosening Radio Regulations to Increase Listening Options
Israel's Ministry of Communications announces new radio broadcasting regulations to increase listening options nationwide, promoting transparency and diversity
Jerusalem, 18 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Communications is publishing today (Tuesday) the Memorandum of the Communications (Radio) Law, which contains a new model for commercial radio broadcasting in Israel. The goal of the reform, said the Ministry, is to remove barriers to entry into the radio market and move to an open, transparent, and equitable tender format, which will enable the conversion of regional radio stations to nationwide radio broadcasts, as well as the establishment of new radio stations, so that the public will enjoy a wider range of options and will be able to listen to any station from anywhere in the country.
