Jerusalem, 15 October, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Tax Authority said that the police thwarted what it described as a “significant smuggling” effort on the way to the Kerem Shalom crossing into Gaza. Three suspects were arrested earlier this week while driving a dirt truck near the Crossing, while in possession of goods that included cigarettes, batteries, accumulators, and communications equipment in large quantities.

“It is suspected that this is smuggling aimed at helping to strengthen the Hamas terrorist organization by smuggling prohibited equipment into the Gaza Strip,” said the Tax Authority.
