30 Million Shekels Added for Haifa Metropan Bike Paths Project

Jerusalem, 15 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — An additional budget of 30 million Shekels ($9.3 million) has been approved to promote the Metropan project – a network of bicycle paths in the Haifa metropolitan area, which will enable the construction of additional bicycle paths throughout the Haifa metropolitan area.

As part of the additional budget for the project, new bicycle paths will be paved in the Haifa area cities of Kiryat Motzkin, Kiryat Bialik and Haifa, with a total length of 4 km. Extensive work will be carried out along the new paths to rehabilitate the public space, which will include the renewal and upgrading of water, sewage and electricity Infrastructure, the rehabilitation of sidewalks with an emphasis on accessibility and lighting work, gardening and paving.

In addition, road facilities, shaded rest areas and accessible drinking and refreshment points will be established, while new trees will be relocated and planted along the new bicycle paths.

The Metropan project includes the establishment of a network of bicycle paths connecting the entire Haifa metropolitan area, approximately 25 km long. The Metropan will pass through the territory of five municipalities: Haifa, Kiryat Ata, Kiryat Haim, Kiryat Motzkin and Kiryat Bialik and will provide fast, convenient and efficient access to commercial and employment centers, connectivity to the public transportation network, educational institutions and leisure and entertainment centers in the area, and the creation of an available, continuous and safe Infrastructure for cyclists and pedestrians.
