Finance Minister Establishes Task Force on Response to Strong Shekels Effect on High Tech Industry
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has established a task force to address the impact of a strong shekel on Israel's high-tech sector.
Jerusalem, 4 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich established a task force to examine a response to the high-tech industry in light of the strengthening shekel. The minister’s decision follows a meeting held this morning by senior Finance Ministry officials with representatives of high-tech companies on the subject.
The team was instructed to formulate dedicated assistance plans for companies in difficulty, to identify operational solutions that have been raised in recent weeks as part of the ministry’s work, and to work to reduce the broader implications for the entire Israeli economy, while ensuring full separation from the Bank of Israel’s monetary powers.
