Israelis Warned of New Cyber Threats During Ongoing Emergency

Israel's National Cyber Directorate warns of increased cyber threats, including camera hacking and phishing, during the ongoing emergency.

Jerusalem, 8 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s National Cyber Directorate called on the public and organizations to increase vigilance and take cyber protection actions in light of the continued State of emergency.

In parallel with security developments, the National Cyber Directorate operates on heightened alert and continues to monitor cyberspace, with the aim of identifying, thwarting, and curbing hostile cyber activity against the > 🇮🇱🇦🇷”>State of Israel.

Experience from recent campaigns has shown that hostile elements are also operating in cyberspace during this period in an attempt to harm organizations, collect information, create psychological pressure, and undermine the public’s sense of security.

Among the main trends identified in recent periods and likely to intensify in the current campaign:

Attempts to hack into private and public security cameras for the purpose of collecting information and observation.

Using previously leaked information for campaigns of influence, intimidation, and misrepresentation of new events.

Attempts to disrupt and disable the activities of organizations through wipe and encryption attacks.

Exploiting known security vulnerabilities in systems that have not been updated.

Dissemination of phishing messages, messages impersonating official authorities, intimidating messages and telephone calls aimed at creating pressure, confusion and deception.
