Jerusalem, 13 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — >>”>Tel Aviv-based Innoviz Technologies has announced a new software development agreement with a leading autonomous driving technology company to evaluate on-sensor perception capabilities for its InnovizTwo LiDAR platform. LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) is a sensing technology that uses laser pulses to measure distances and generate detailed 3D maps of a vehicle’s surroundings.

The collaboration will explore running perception software directly on the sensor rather than relying solely on a central computer, producing standardized safety-critical outputs for autonomous driving systems. Innoviz said the initiative could expand its role in OEM autonomous vehicle programs and reflects industry demand for more distributed, sensor-level intelligence.
