Manhunt After Attempted Car-Ramming Near Jerusalem

A car-ramming attack was attempted near a Jerusalem checkpoint, with the driver fleeing towards Bethlehem after ramming a police car.

Jerusalem, 24 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — A suspected ramming attack was reported near a checkpoint south of Jerusalem. According to the Israel Defense Forces, officers near Beit Jala attempted to inspect a vehicle, but the driver reversed it into a police car and tried to flee toward Bethlehem. Shots were fired at the vehicle’s wheels. A manhunt is underway.

No injuries were reported.
