Jerusalem, 28 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Government of Israel unanimously approved today (Sunday) a proposal of to launch a national program to strengthen Jewish education in Diaspora communities, to be led by the Prime Minister’s Office in cooperation with the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs and Combating Antisemitism and key partners in Jewish communities around the world. The program, which will have an investment of 200 million Shekels ($66.6 million), is designed to expand the scope of formal Jewish education, with an emphasis on North America, and to strengthen Jewish identity, the sense of belonging to the Jewish people, and the connection to the State of Israel among the younger generation.
The program will focus on removing central barriers limiting the expansion of Jewish education, including tuition costs, geographic accessibility, lack of solutions for students with learning disabilities, and the need to strengthen excellence and educational quality in schools. In addition, innovative frameworks and solutions will be developed, including digital tools, to enable broader accessibility to Jewish education for wider audiences.
