Free Public Transportation Benefits for Security Evacuees Extended to End of Summer

Israel's government approved extending free public transportation for security evacuees until August 25, 2026, offering continued mobility.

Jerusalem, 28 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The government of Israel approved an initiative to extend the free public transportation benefit for people who were evacuated from their homes for security reasons during the recent conflicts. As part of the decision, the benefit was extended for an additional two months and will remain in effect until August 25, 2026.

The benefit allows evacuees to travel free of charge and without restriction on all public transportation systems throughout the country, buses, Israel Railways and light rail, using a Rav-Kav card. The aim of the measure is to make it easier for those who have had to leave their home and to allow them full mobility between the temporary place of stay and workplaces, educational establishments, medical services and essential call centers.

Eligibility is given to evacuees who have not yet returned to their homes and who have been approved by the local authority and the National Digital System.
