International Delegations Tour Israel MOD Rehabilitation Facilities
Representatives from over 20 countries toured a rehabilitation farm, therapeutic surfing club, and veterans' center as part of the first international rehabilitation conference organized by the Israel Ministry of Defense (IMOD) Rehabilitation Department.
During the tour, delegations from England, Mexico, Germany, Ukraine, Canada, Finland, Japan, and other countries met with injured IDF soldiers and visited specialized therapeutic frameworks available to wounded security forces personnel. These included Beit HaLochem in Tel Aviv, operated by the Zahal Disabled Veterans Fund (ZDVF), which serves as a rehabilitation sports and social center.
The delegations also visited the maritime center of the "My Wave" association in Bat Yam, which utilizes surfing as an educational and therapeutic tool. They concluded their visit at "Danny's Farm" in Moshav Sitriya, where treatment and emotional support are provided through horseback riding, animal therapy, mindfulness, and creative activities.
At Beit HaLochem, visitors were impressed by the comprehensive rehabilitation facilities adapted for various injuries, including hydrotherapy, fitness rooms, Pilates equipment, and wheelchair basketball programs.
During the tour, delegates learned about plans to establish branches of the National Center for Mental Trauma Victims - "Returning to Life" across veterans' centers nationwide. This initiative was made possible through an unprecedented donation from the Friends of the IDF (FIDF) in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense, Sheba Medical Center, and the ZDVF.
