Jerusalem, 27 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Troops operating in Southern Lebanon have dismantled more than 50 Terror Infrastructure sites, including a weapons storage facility inside a child’s room, the Israel Defense Forces said on Monday.
During a targeted raid in the Aadshit al-Qusayr area of southern Lebanon, soldiers Found in a child’s room explosives, Kalashnikov rifles, grenades, RPGs, machine guns, ammunition and combat equipment.
“The Hezbollah terrorist organization cynically exploits the civilian population in Lebanon in order to execute terror attacks against Israeli civilians and IDF troops,” the military said.
On Sunday, soldiers identified three terrorists in a manner that posed a threat to forces operating in the area. The three terrorists were eliminated in an airstrike. During the demolition, secondary explosions were observed, indicating the presence of weapons.
Also on Sunday, an Israeli soldier was killed and six others were injured by a Hezbollah drone strike in southern Lebanon. Sgt. Idan Fooks, 19, was the first Israeli soldier killed in direct fighting in southern Lebanon since a ceasefire with Hezbollah took effect on April 16. Fooks was helping repair a tank that got stuck in the village of Taybeh when a Hezbollah drone carrying explosives struck nearby. Two more drones targeted the Israelis as they evacuated the wounded.
The Iran-backed terror group claimed responsibility for the drone strike.
Following the attack, the IDF warned residents of the Lebanese villages of Mefdon, Shukin, Yahmar, Arnoun, Zoter Sharqiya, Zoter Gharbiya, and Kafr Tibnit. “Anyone present near Hezbollah elements, their facilities, or their combat means is endangering their life,” tweeted Col. Avichay Adraee, the IDF’s Arabic-language spokesperson.
