Jerusalem, 20 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israel Air Force’s “Magic Touch” attack helicopter squadron (190) has completed its relocation from the Ramon Airbase (Wing 25), where it operated for nearly 25 years, to the Ramat David Airbase (Wing 1), as part of lessons learned from October 7.

A relocation ceremony was held Wednesday at Ramat David, led by Air Force Commander Maj. Gen. Omer Tishler, alongside base and squadron commanders and senior officers including Ground Forces Commander Maj. Gen. Nadav Lotan.

During the war, the squadron struck terror targets, eliminated terrorists, and provided close air support to ground forces, later expanding into air defense missions, including intercepting drones during operations “Rising Lion” and “Roar of the Lion.”

The relocation aims to enhance attack helicopter availability by dispersing squadrons between Israel’s north and south for improved border defense.
