Police Seize Weapons Cache Including Grenades in Arab Village

Israeli police discovered a major illegal weapons cache, including grenades and firearms, at a home in the Arab village of Abu Snan, Galilee.

Jerusalem, 20 August, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel Police raided a residential compound in the Arab village of Abu Snan in the Galilee and uncovered a large illegal weapons cache. The operation came as part of Israel’s ongoing fight against illegal weapons possession and violence in Israeli-Arab communities.

During a targeted search, conducted under a judicial warrant, officers found two FN-type handguns, six fragmentation grenades, a full ammunition crate, loose 5.56mm bullets, an M16 magazine, 9mm ammunition, and an IDF (Israel Defense Forces) combat vest.

Police sappers were called to the scene to handle the grenades and remaining ammunition until the danger was removed. All the weapons were seized and transferred to police forensic laboratories for identification.
