Jerusalem, 24 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported that, in the period of January-May 2026 (original data) total hotel occupancy in the country was 43%, down from 51% in the same period in 2025. The drop was clearly due to the war with Iran that began on February 28 and caused the closure of airports for some time.

There were 6. 6 million overnight stays in tourist hotels in Israel, down from 7.8 million in the same period in 2025, and 5.6 million of the overnight stays were made by Israelis, 84% of total overnight stays.
