Jerusalem, 7 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Thierry Elmaaem, an Israeli and French citizen, was extradited to France on Wednesday to serve a two-year prison sentence, imposed on him by the Paris Court of Appeals, after being convicted of violent crimes and threats against his partner.

Malem was arrested last February by the Israel Police, and following his arrest, a petition was filed with the Jerusalem District Court by Attorney Efrat Glazer from the International Department of the State Attorney’s Office to declare him extradited to France, along with a request to detain him until the petition is decided.

At the end of March, the Jerusalem District Court accepted the petition and declared him extraditable.

Elmalem’s extradition was carried out by the Operational Coordination Department in the Israel Police Intelligence Division, in cooperation with the Prison Service.
