Second Round of program to Prevent Violence Against Women Begins

Jerusalem, 18 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Authority for the Advancement of Women has begun operating the second round of its program in Local Authorities across the country designed to strengthen community responses at the local level, raise awareness and create a municipal safety net for women victims of violence.

The activity is led by the consultants for the advancement of the status of women in local authorities, in cooperation with the Welfare Department, with the aim of providing practical tools and professional guidance tailored to the needs of the community.

Local authorities operating the program can choose from a number of activities, such as workshops and lectures to identify red flags for various and diverse target audiences, a self-defense workshop, workshops for men, workshops to develop local female leadership to assist in eradicating violence in local authorities, and more.
