Joint statement from theand the Shin Bet Spokesperson: The IDF and Shin Bet eliminated a terrorist from the PIJ terrorist organization who infiltrated Israel on October 7th and participated in the abduction of civilians. The IDF and Shin Bet attacked yesterday (Sunday) in the northern Gaza Strip and eliminated Zahar Barham Khalil Abu Salem, a terrorist from the PIJ terrorist organization, who infiltrated the territory of the State of Israel during the October 7th massacre. Abu Salem participated in the abduction of Israeli civilians from their homes and their holding as hostages. In addition, throughout the war and also recently, Abu Salem attempted to advance numerous terror plots against IDF forces and civilians of the State of Israel. Abu Salem posed a threat to our forces operating in the Gaza Strip and was eliminated in an aerial strike. IDF forces under the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove any threat.
